My story:
In 2006 I was introduced to the popular American Girl Dolls and since I was already knitting sweaters for Teddy Bears my husband suggested I knit for these dolls too! Thus began my love affair knitting and designing for these dolls. My first outfits for the 18" American Girl Dolls were modeled on an 18" Meritus Elite Doll named Caroline [see picture]. Although she was not an American Girl Doll she shared the same body type. It was during my first season of selling these outfits that I gained much valuable doll knowledge from some of the most delightful people/customers. As a result of my newfound knowledge the dolls I most often use are from the well-respected German doll manufacturing company known as Gotz. All 18" Gotz Dolls share the same soft cloth body type as the American Girl Doll, which is not surprising since Gotz created the American Girl Doll for Pleasant Company and manufactured the dolls for them for many years.

Today, not wanting to stagnate and always passionate to develop and/or improve upon new designs is very important to me ~ this is often not easy exploring new territories; you never know how a new design will be received. I love to knit from inspiration, creating something new, because I want to make heirloom quality designs that come from my heart.

I have learnt that something positive always grows out of every change. And with the addition of other sized dolls to design for [pictured below], you will see how exciting these changes can be. I often make use of vintage buttons that add to the unique character of my outfits and with an eye for detail incorporate life-like features that you would expect to find in 'real' clothing, yet always keeping in mind our dolls well being by including easy dressing closures: for example back-button closures on my sweaters.
